Sconce & Devon Park
Sconce & Devon Park is the largest area of public space in Newark with grassland, woodland, sports pitches, a local nature reserve and the Queen’s Sconce, a large civil war earthwork.
The park has been awarded Green Flag status in recognition of its excellent range of facilities, maintenance standards and opportunities for community involvement.

The facilities include parking, a children’s play area, fitness trail, café, toilets, and a network of pathways suitable for prams and pushchairs.

Start the MapRun app when in the car park, tap Events Near Me or Select Event and browse to the
UK/Nottinghamshire/Sconce Park folder.
We suggest that you download and print the POC map above that has all the control markers, but you can just use the one on your phone.
The following MapRun courses are available based on the Sconce Park Permanent Course:
- Sconce Park POC Medium
- Sconce Park POC All controls - This challenge is to visit all 21 controls in any order in under 60 minutes, 20 points per control.
Select the course you want, and the map will appear.
Select Go to Start when ready.
When you are close to the Start (the triangle marked on the map) the phone will beep, the Start triangle changes to green and your time will begin.
