Whinless Down Country Park

Whinless Down Local Nature Reserve is an AONB located just a short distance from the centre of Dover.  Access to the bottom of the hillside can be gained from Elms Vale Recreation Ground where there is a free car park and an information panel.  The whole area is awash with colour as the ancient chalk landscape and grassland is covered in rare wildflowers during late summer and early Autumn.    A free leaflet is available showing the walking and orienteering routes.

PLEASE BE AWARE that the area is very uneven with large rabbit holes so take great care.  Walking rather than running is recommended.
