Walltown Crags
Walltown Crags Country Park is in classic Roman Wall Country on Hadrian's Wall National Trail.
Former quarry with wooded areas, water and rock features, good path network (mainly hard surface wide enough for wheelchairs/pushchairs) and runnable open areas.
Northumberland National Park Information Centre, light refreshments (seasonal) & toilets.
On the route of AD122 Hadrian's Wall Bus route (essentially hourly) linking sites between Chesters Fort and Walltown with Hexham and Haltwhistle - seasonal Easter to September.
Bus & Rail connections: Hexham & Haltwhistle.
Markers checked in October 2025, and the pack updated.
Control 10 (and gate) is currently missing and will be replaced when possible.
Control 12: Markings faded. Temporarily restored in pen.
