Donisthorpe
Terrain: Woodland Park with a good path network and some more challenging control sites. The area is actively managed by volunteers and many fences have been removed recently.
Alternative Start: at Moira Furnace but this is more difficult as the path network is more complex.
The area is regularly used for School Orienteering competitions including the NW Primary Schools Championship. 2019
Safety: There is a canal to the East with a wide path and one stream which can be difficult to cross. See Safety risk assessment Advice for more details.
Groups: You should seek permission from the County Council Ranger, who will advise you of any possible clash with your plans.

Your phone (watch) beeps when you get close to the feature (a virtual control detected by your GPS signal). Upload your results to see your position on the leader board.
Download a map from here to access the passcode, on site you can just use the map on your smartphone.
To access the maprun map scan the QR code on the map. OR
To use the Maprun app when in the car park, start the Maprun6 app
If you are at the site or are close by, click 'Events near me' or at home, click 'Select Event' and go to the UK/Leicestershire/Knighton folder to find the courses. Click the one you want. Click ‘go to Start’ when you are ready. You will need to enter the Passcode from the map. When you get near the start your time begins once your phone beeps.
